Sad Craigslist Story: 2007 Mercedes Benz E350

Whats the sad version of Craigslist? Its OfferUp, of course. Some signs of life there in the listings, amongst the scrapped content from craigslist, and the old listings that they never take down. From the land of Sad Craigslist comes this 2007 Mercedes Benz E350

This generation E350 is notorious for this issue. The Mercedes E350 comes with a component called the 13-pin connector.  This connector links the automatic 6 speed transmission with all the wires that perform several functions automatically.

Several Mercedes vehicles of this era, including the E-Class, are prone to connector failure. When it fails, you end up with severe transmission fluid leaks. This has been mentioned several times in several Mercedes forums. So, the entire system fails, making a faulty 13-pin  connector one of the most notorious Mercedes E350 transmission problem. It can kill the transmission.

Our desperate seller of the day mentions that the previous effort in replacing a bad transmission failed. “Needs transmisión. Car DOES NOT RUN.  my mechanic replaced it but still wont drive.”  well, I hope this guy at least got his money back from the mechanic. In any event, the bet here is $1000. Hint: I wouldn’t take that bet. Caveat Emptor
