Cars & Coffee

San Mateo Cars & Coffee: Jan 22, 2023

Visited the San Mateo C&C – Where all the expensive cars of the Peninsula tend to show up. If you’re a car enthusiast living on the San Francisco Peninsula, you’ve probably heard of San Mateo Cars & Coffee. It’s the place to be on a Saturday morning if you want to see some of the most impressive rides on the Bay Area.

The first thing you’ll notice as you pull into the parking lot is the sheer number of Nissan GTRs. These beasts are everywhere, and they’re not your average GTRs either. These are souped up, tuned to perfection, or almost ruined, and begging to be taken for a spin on the freeway. I’ve always had a soft spot for the GTR, and seeing so many of them in one place was a real treat.

But the GTRs aren’t the only game in town. There are plenty of other high-performance cars to drool over, including souped-up Mustangs, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and a metric ton of Porsches. And it’s not just the exotics that catch your eye. There are plenty of classic Classic American muscle cars, European sports cars (Saab), and even a few Japanese imports that will make your jaw drop.

One of the things I love about San Mateo Cars & Coffee is that it’s not just a bunch of show cars sitting on a lawn. These are real, driven cars, and you can tell by the way they’re parked and the way they’re driven that the owners take great pride in them. It’s clear that these cars are not just garage queens, they are driven and loved by their owners.

I was also impressed by the diversity of the crowd. Sure, there were a lot of wealthy Silicon Valley types, but there were also plenty of regular folks who just love cars. And it’s not just men either. I saw plenty of women and families enjoying the show. It’s a true community event that brings people together to share their love of cars.

In the end, the San Mateo Cars & Coffee is not just a car show, it’s a celebration of all things automotive. From the Nissan GTRs to the souped-up Mustangs, the diversity of cars on display is truly impressive. Add to that the friendly and passionate crowd, and you have the recipe for a perfect Saturday morning. If you haven’t been to the San Mateo Cars & Coffee, put it on your calendar and make a plan to check it out. As for me, I’ll be back next month, camera in hand, ready to soak in all the automotive goodness the show has to offer.
