Collectors Edition: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe

This solstice coupe, despite its, um, modifications is still a very rare bird.

Underneath its beautiful shell, the 2009 Solstice Coupe houses a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, delivering a respectable 173 horsepower. This powerplant is mated to a five-speed manual transmission

One of the most intriguing aspects of the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe is its rarity. Pontiac only produced a limited number of these coupes, with estimates suggesting that around 1,266 units were built. Most Solstices were convertibles. This scarcity adds a certain allure and exclusivity to the Solstice Coupe, making it highly sought after by collectors and automotive enthusiasts alike.

The 2009 Solstice Coupe shares its platform with the Saturn Sky. These siblings were produced under General Motors’ performance division and shared many similarities. The Solstice Roadster featured a convertible soft-top design, while the Saturn Sky had its own distinct styling cues. All three models, however, offered exceptional handling, and a sense of freedom that only a true sports car can provide even if quality wasn’t job one. The interior has also been modified. YMMV here:

This 2009 Solstice Coupe with its naturally aspirated engine remains a remarkable vehicle that captures the essence of classic sports cars. Its breathtaking design, spirited performance, and limited production numbers make it a highly desirable collector’s item.
