Collector’s Edition: 2000 Volvo C70 Turbo Convertible

Today’s participant is a very rare car indeed. This 2000 Volvo C70 High Turbo Convertible was back then an incredibly attractive Volvo, that showed the world Volvo could do more than box designs.

Introduced in 1999, the Volvo C70 was a sleek and stylish convertible designed by Ian Callum, one of the most renowned automotive designers in the world. Callum, who has worked for iconic brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Ford, lent his expertise to Volvo for the creation of the C70, which is widely regarded as a masterpiece of automotive design.

One of the most impressive features of the Volvo C70 was its powertrain. The car is powered by a 2.3-liter, 5-cylinder engine that produces 236 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, providing plenty of oomph for drivers who like to put the pedal to the metal. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, or an even rarer 5 speed manual, which delivers smooth and seamless shifting.

In addition to its impressive powertrain, the Volvo C70 was also packed with a variety of high-tech features that make it a joy to drive. These include power steering, power brakes, anti-lock brakes, traction control, and more. The car also boasts a spacious and comfortable interior, with plush seats and plenty of legroom for both front and rear passengers.

The 1999 Volvo C70 was featured in the 1997 remake of ‘The Saint’, a classic action movie starring Val Kilmer. In the film, Kilmer’s character drives a Volvo C70 , which has become an iconic symbol of the movie’s cool, sophisticated aesthetic.

Despite its popularity, however, the Volvo C70 was produced in relatively limited numbers. According to production records, only 3,384 units of the car were produced in 1999, followed by 2,703 units in 2000 and just 1,150 units in 2001. This makes the car a very rare find on the market today.

Today’s find from Facebook Marketplace only wants $6,500 and only has 68,000 miles. Car is in Sacramento, CA and looks to be in excellent shape. Why not buy it and flip it in the car auction casino?
