As we have been browsing feverishly to see which car could be the Caradise’s official project and track car, we have seen a few sad stories.
This 1997 BMW 540i comes today with a V8 that has, sadly, fairly significant issues. Car ran ‘flawlessly’ until the timing chain became dislodged. That sounds like an expensive repair to me. Before that, the bad fortune of spending a ton in maintenance, only for the failure to get you where you least expected.
The seller lets us know: “Barely 100 miles before this happened, the car received $1,400 worth of repairs including brand new brakes and rotors front and back using Zimmerman rotors which are not cheap. New clutch only 4000 miles ago. A/c recharged 1.5 years ago for $300. Updated sound system with Bluetooth and integrated phone system”
Well, I know that feeling very well, so today I am empathizing as my therapist told me. But maybe you can rescue this German mobile?
