Meet your Weird Car Twitter Cast: @thealso follows his bliss

On the other side of the pond, one of our #WeirdCarTwitter friends is following his bliss, on top of a Fiat Panda all over the world. That guy is @thealso, Dear ol’ Jim Magill – His YouTube channel is pure automotive joy of better automotive days gone by.  There are many weird and wonderful cars he shares via twitter A few months ago, on 2022 he traveled to the USA on a VW XL1, for some reason to experience our bloated and very expensive healthcare system. He survived!

Which car were you driving when you got your first traffic ticket? what was the charge?

Shortly after this was taken, I got a speeding ticket in the Panda from the Moroccan police for about 50 bucks. The ticket looked like it was more of a honour from the King of Morocco than a fine

What vehicle you drove exactly a week ago? (no explanations, riding nothing is an answer. bike, tractor, skis, 4×4, trailer, tesla whatever vehicle you drove)

A week ago I took the panda to the beach in Wales where I live

Confess your irrational car love – The car you love despite its deep flaws

Ok… There is a theme here, it’s the Panda again It’s cheap, it was never designed to last 30 years and it’s not particularly great fun to drive but I’ve seen half the world from the driver’s seat, the aurora borealis in the Arctic, the heat shimmer of the Sahara, the craziness of LA traffic and the cut and thrust of Istanbul

Everyone loves a grudge, so tell us the car brand you will never drive again and why?

The brand I dislike the most is late GM era Vauxhall as it’s just some nonsense Brexity name plate stuck on cars from other manufacturers. Your British Vauxhall could really be an Opel, a Fiat, a Suzuki, a Lotus, a Pontiac, a Holden, an Isuzu or a Daewoo of gawd knows what origin The worst is the Vauxhall Mokka, silly SUV thing that has a terrible ride and less room inside than a MK4 Golf which makes it totally pointless
