Meet your Weird Car Twitter Cast: @CodyLusnia – Our Agent in Oklahoma

A man of multiple talents, @CodyLusnia not only has time to give us plenty of #weirdcartwitter takes and pictures, but I personally enjoy his takes on Oklahoma history, his journey losing over 180lbs and being a calm, centered presence in twitter.

With a generations-long connection to Oklahoma, and always sharing some keen insights, we are extremely happy to have Cody at our humble blog, here he is in his own words!

Which car were you driving when you got your first traffic ticket? What was the charge?

I was driving a 1991 Mitsubishi Mirage in Orlando Florida. The charge was an expired tag, nothing dramatic. In Oklahoma you renew a tag and it’s 1 year out from the date you renewed it. In Florida the way it worked at the time is your tag expired in the month of your birthday. I had recently moved and never got the renewal notice and had no idea.

What vehicle you drove exactly a week ago?

A week ago I was driving or as some might call it hypermiling my 2015 Prius. My commute has been returning MPG in the 70s.

Confess your irrational car love – The car you love despite its deep flaws.

For me the most irrational car I absolutely fawn over is the Lincoln Continental Mark V Bill Blass Edition. There aren’t any clever design elements or complex curves, just a vehicle that despite its conservative styling projects that big yacht club energy. Previously I owned a Mercury Marquis of the same era and they aren’t technologically advanced, but incredibly comfortable.

Everyone loves a grudge, so tell us the car brand you will never drive again and why?

This is a tough call, but I’m going to have to go with Ford. As a young buying my first new car in 2000, the fact that it had at least 8 recalls within the first year was incredibly disappointing. Beyond that I discovered flaws in the way the wiring harness for the AC was done. Mine was rubbing on a belt shroud and created a short. By that time the warranty was expired and they told me to buzz off. Immediate family members subsequently had problems with other FoMoCo products that made me very wary.

Give us your best tweet:

(Editors note, Cody gave us an Envoy XL tweet, but that was not his best tweet) This is:

Thank you Cody! We leave you to continue hypermiling your Prius, a noble venture. Let us know when you hit 80MPG so we can contact NASA!
