Track Car WTF? 1991 Sterling 827

Can I interest you in a British, V6 Automatic car for your next track day? No. I am not joking. What If I throw in a Honda V6 engine? No, not a swap!

Bringing the WTF is this 1991 Sterling 827 sedan. Asking $2800 in FB Marketplace

The 1991 Sterling 827 is an incredibly rare car, with only a small number of units produced. It was manufactured by the British automaker, Sterling, which was a subsidiary of Rover Group. The 827 was a luxury sports sedan that was sold in the United States and Canada, but it was not a commercial success. This one is an automatic (not sure if stock transmission, but the US model was Auto only, IIRC)

The Sterling 827 is powered by a 2.7-liter V6 engine that produces 162 horsepower that could be tuned up to 200hp and is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The car is equipped with a variety of luxury features, including leather seats, power windows, and a sunroof. It also has a four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes, which provide a smooth and comfortable ride. Honda provided the V6 heart, and the rest the Britons cobbled together. Squarely handsome styled, squint hard to see a 90’s Acura Legend perhaps.

However, owning a 1991 Sterling 827 can be a challenging and expensive proposition. The car is no longer in production, and parts can be difficult to find. Additionally, the car was not widely distributed, so it can be difficult to find a mechanic with experience working on it. I cant imagine finding these at the local Junkyards for Lemons. Owner says it has finished all its races. and it comes with one seat, cage and looks the part. Now you have my attention.
