Joyride Pick of the Day: 2004 Ford Mustang GT V8

Our Joyride Pick of the day goes back nearly 20 years, from the era of the rebirth of the Mustang. We now have Ford making $300,000 Mustangs like the Mustang GTD, but once upon a time, the car was the muscle car for everyone.

This 2004 Ford Mustang GT, comes with a V8 engine and three pedals, shiny chrome wheels, some minor paint scratches in the bumper, its moving under its own power, with a five speed manual transmission, and a clean title.  Someone may get a deal, despite being over 200,000 miles.

The interior still looks OK, lots of gray plastic but the seats aren’t ripped and the car is reasonably clean. The videos show that the throttle is still present and twitchy, and everything seems in order.

The 2004 Mustang GT V8 had a robust engine—a 4.6-liter V8 that produced 260 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque.  Decent numbers from 20 years ago. This powerplant not only delivers an exhilarating driving experience but also pays homage to the muscle car heritage that the Mustang is still renowned for. The deep, throaty rumble emitted from the exhaust pipes is enough to send shivers down the spine of any car enthusiast.

When it comes to performance, the 2004 Mustang GT V8 doesn’t disappoint. With a 0-60 mph time of around 5.3 seconds, it catapults off the line with an aggression that’s sure to put a smile on your face. The power is efficiently transmitted to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission

This Mustang goes on Auction on Thursday Aug 31 at noon in San Jose, California, and will likely go for less than $4,000 – not bad if you need a track car or feel that clutch under your feet.
