“The Caradise”

Welcome to “The Caradise”, a new blog dedicated to all things automotive. My name is Francisco Guerrero and I’ll be your guide through the world of cars, both past and present. I’ll be joined by Chato Gepete, as main content editor and content generator and whoever else wants to have a say here, as we share our obsessions, confessions, and stories about the cars that have shaped our lives.

First up, let’s talk about our “Random Auto Thoughts of the Day.” These are the musings that pop into our heads as we drive down the road, or stare at a car parked on the street. Today’s thought: “Why do so many car commercials feature a shot of the vehicle driving on a winding mountain road? Are they trying to appeal to our inner rally driver or is it just a way to show off the car’s handling?”

Next, we have “Shameful Car Confessions.” These are the moments when we’ve been caught doing something we shouldn’t have been doing in our cars. Maybe it’s speeding, maybe it’s a sketchy fix or a car sold with plenty of unresolved demons. I’ll start: I once sold a car, that broke down on the way to get the buyer to an ATM to get the money.  Don’t judge me, we’ve all been there.

Now onto “Track Stories of Mediocrity.” These are the tales of our attempts at being a track star, only to end up being a track zero. We’ll share our embarrassing moments, near misses, and lessons learned on the track. Saab story: “A Saab Viggen gets destroyed at the track, and that is not even the worst thing that would happen that day.”

“Sad Craigslist Story of the Day” is where we share the heartbreaking stories we come across on the classifieds site. From cars that have been neglected and abused, to those with a heartbreaking history, we’ll share them all. ‘Collector’s Edition’ are car gems found in the detritus.

And finally, we have our reviews. These will be our honest thoughts on the cars we’ve lived with, in the past, present, or future. From the daily driver to the dream car, we’ll give you the good, the bad, and the ugly.

So there you have it, a taste of what’s to come on “The Caradise.” Join us as we share our love, obsession, and sometimes shame for all things automotive.

As Anthony Bourdain said “Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks — on your body or on your heart — are beautiful. Often, though, they hurt.”

In the same way, cars change us. They mark us, they shape us, they create memories and stories. And here, in The Caradise, we’ll share our stories, our marks, and our love for these beasts made of metal, gas breathing dragons or electron-filled hearts. Welcome.
