Go Rad or Go Home: 2000 Daewoo Lanos with 8,500 miles

Some cars, only beloved patron saint of #weirdcartwitter Myron Vernis should scoop, buy them out and protect them for all time at the Vernis Automotive Museum. Such is this car, a brand new 2000 Daewoo Lanos with barely any miles, less than 8,500. Someone has kept this time capsule of a weird time in history when Daewoo was trying to make its mark in the USA by any means necessary.

Per the seller description, this is the mythical Grandma’s beloved car. But let’s not be too harsh on this little Korean runabout. It may not turn heads, but it’s got a certain charm to it. If you’re looking for a car that screams “I’m on a tight budget for my hipster creed”, then the Lanos Base is perfect for you. Just hope you don’t need parts.

Sure, it’s not going to set any speed records with its 1.6-liter engine, and 3-speed automatic but it’s is going to break the bank, since it is asking for $6,000. Is it reliable?  Hmmm. Let’s face it, when was the last time you saw a Daewoo on the side of the road with smoke billowing out from under the hood? Probably never. So perhaps it is reliable.

Look at that mint goodness

The Lanos Base will certainly get you some Radwood creed of some sort. This one seems to have AC as well. What else you need? Go for it.
