Go Rad or Go Home: 1988 Saab 900 Turbo SPG Manual

This 1988 Saab 900 Turbo SPG comes with impeccable upgrades and signs of many loving owners. First of all, the black paint is shiny and glossy, and the SPG version had those gray side moldings at the sides that gave the car an even better, more aggressive appearance.

Furthermore, the very coveted ‘Whale tail’ wide rear spoiler is there, which also makes the rear of the car much visually appealing. Saabistas have been known to pay $1,000 or more for that spoiler alone. Plus those are correct Aero Tri-spoke 16″ wheels

Another great touch is the set of extra gauges in the console. This is another coveted option amongst the Saab 900 owners. This one comes proper with the correct gauges: Oil Temp, Oil Pressure and Battery voltage and all 3 are VDO proper gauges.  Another expensive accessory nowadays. The gauges go for like $300-$400 around ebay.

Furthermore, on a more whimsical point, the owner has chosen the earliest steering wheel of the original 99 Saab Turbo, or a very early 1979-1981 900s. Saab made plenty of steering wheels some with amazing designs. Our own Saab 900 Turbo has the rally steering wheel.

Furthermore the engine looks tidy and someone has painted the head of the engine a nice Red color to break all the black. Also a great way to know this car has been deeply loved.  Definitely.

So, the asking price is a totally reasonable $15,000 and comes with 191,000 miles on the clock. Tons of upgrades, including an upgrade to Saab’s later trionic boost control system, and other great added bits.  I’d say you are a fool in April Fool Day if you don’t buy this beautiful Saab.

(Ed note: The writer should disclose he owns a freakin’ sweet 1986 Saab 900 Turbo with a later added full SPG package)
