Sad Craigslist Story: 2017 Ford Escape Ecoboost with the damned 1.5L Turbo engine

This engine is really uniting all the factions of car lovers together. Even the people that can’t stand Scotty Kilmer will agree with him this time.  The 1.5L Ford Ecoboost engine is an epic piece of crap

Here, we have a 2017 Ford Escape, with the owner already been clear it will need a new engine.  It has the infamous 1.5L Ford engine that already blew up at 70,000 miles. . Proof you can still build a bad engine.

So, you’ve heard about the woes of the 1.5L Ecoboost Ford engine, huh? Well, buckle up because we’re about to dive into the nitty-gritty of why this little engine is causing big headaches for its owners. Turns out, it’s not all rainbows and unicorns under the hood.

Oil Dilution Drama:

Okay, picture this: fuel sneaking its way into your engine oil, making it as thin as water. Not a great scenario, right? Well, that’s what some unlucky folks have been dealing with. This oil dilution issue messes with the engine’s lubrication and leads to premature wear and tear. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Turbocharger Troubles:

Turbochargers are meant to boost power and fuel efficiency, but for the 1.5L Ecoboost, it’s been a bit of a love-hate relationship. These babies are prone to oil leaks and downright failure. Cue loss of power, crappy fuel economy, and potential engine damage. Yikes!

Cooling System Chronicles:

Engines need to stay cool, but the 1.5L Ecoboost seems to have missed that memo. Faulty cooling system designs and wonky components make this engine run hotter than a jalapeño on a summer day. High temperatures spell trouble, from warped cylinder heads to blown head gaskets. Not cool, Ford.

Timing Belt and Chain Woes:

Timing belts and chains are like the engine’s DJ, keeping everything synchronized. Well, in the case of the 1.5L Ecoboost, the DJ’s been dropping the beat. Premature failures of timing belts and chains can lead to catastrophic engine damage. Think “engine funeral.” Not a party anyone wants to attend.

The 1.5L Ecoboost Ford engine may look like a pint-sized powerhouse, but don’t be fooled by its appearance. Oil dilution dramas, turbocharger troubles, cooling system chronicles, timing belt and chain woes, and design and manufacturing blunders have turned this engine into a reliability nightmare. If you’re an owner experiencing these problems, get professional help and spread the word to save others from the same fate. It’s time for automakers to step up, fix these issues already.
