Apple depicts broken Saab 9-5 Wagon on their new call AAA feature for new iPhone 15

Well, who knew Saab would make an appearance at the Apple’s new iPhone event today? I certainly didn’t, and they for sure may have offended some Saab owners (although most of us probably had a laugh)

So, on today’s presentation for the many new featured of the new iPhone 15, one is the ability to contact AAA Roadside assistance(assuming one is covered) even when there is no reception for the phone. Plus they have crash detection as well via satellite

Great, right? I mean, some of us have been there in the unfortunate situation of a car breaking down in places with no Cell phone signal. Is pure stress.

And guess what car they used to announce this wonderful feature? That’s right, a SAAB, specifically a very nice Saab 9-5 Wagon with a great red color and Aero accents. It looks so clean and nice. The owners? not so much, as the car is depicted in trouble and they look stressed.

I’m sure the creative process went like this: What car manufacturer doesn’t exist anymore in the US? Even better, what car manufacturer just doesn’t exist at all, period? Has to look kinda in use now. The dead brands from GM or Stellantis don’t count, their lawyers are still around. Suzukis are still sold outside the US. Isuzu still sells trucks and trailers worldwide.

Whoever picked a Saab to do this creative deserves a raise, as I don’t think any complaints will arise from Saab, that now only manufactures planes. My pick? They should’ve depicted an EV, or something like that. But I’m sure Tim Cook didn’t want to piss off Tesla and Musk.  My Saab 900 Turbo left me stranded two blocks from home 3 weeks ago, due to an alternator grounding issue, so I had to laugh hard when I saw this ad.

Well done Apple, well done. Touche.
